What documents do I need for car finance?
Usually photo ID and proof of income, plus recent bank statements. Having these ready is the fastest way to get approved.

Most lenders ask for a similar short list. Having it ready before you apply speeds everything up.
- Photo ID, such as a driver licence or passport
- Proof of income, like payslips, a WINZ statement, or business records if you are self-employed
- Recent bank statements, usually the last few months
- Proof of address, such as a bill or tenancy agreement
